Oasis update     Send a link to a friend

[JUNE 9, 2004]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Potluck and bingo

Join us Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for our special Father's Day celebration. Lunch donation is only $1, or bring a dish to pass. The entree will be hamburgers and hot dogs, along with side dishes and dessert. Stay for bingo at 1 p.m.

Van trips

Seats are available for the June 30 trip to Sullivan for "The Boyfriend." A payment of $28 for members and $30 for nonmembers includes transportation and show ticket. Meal is on your own at Sisters Tea Room. The reservation deadline is June 16.

June 16 is also the deadline to reserve a seat for the July 8 trip to Starved Rock Park for a dinner theater presentation of scenes from "Canal Diggers" and "A Pioneer Family's Memories." Transportation, buffet meal and show ticket are included at $37 for members and $39 for nonmembers.

Winners

Pinochle winners for last weekend were Doris Steffens and Eleanor Barton. Dorothy Oltmanns and Bernie DePuy won 5 in 1. The weekday pinochle winner was Mable Hoagland.
