[MAY 18, 2004]  Last Friday Lincoln welcomed O'Reilly Auto Parts to the business community. Located at 416 Woodlawn, O'Reilly caters to both wholesale customers and the general public.

Bob McCray, O'Reilly manager, said that customers can expect a good experience when they visit the store. "We have a larger selection of parts available and provide excellent customer service," said McCray. He said that the store was busy all weekend, even though a grand opening celebration is not planned for another month.

O'Reilly is a family-owned corporation based in Missouri. It began in Springfield, Mo., in 1957 with one store and 12 employees. According to the corporate website, today the company has over 1,000 stores in 17 states and continues to expand. O'Reilly is listed on the NASDAQ, and last year total sales were estimated at $1.3 billion, the website reports. The company is expected to grow approximately 100 stores per year.

Logan County Development Partnership Director Rob Orr believes O'Reilly will be a good addition to the Lincoln community. "It's a good retail location for visibility and high traffic," said Orr. "It 'auto' do well here."

O'Reilly's mission statement, as posted in the store, is to be the dominant auto supplier in all markets. "We work hard," said regional trainer Jimmy Wilmoth, "We want to be number one in all market areas. We actively attempt to take care of installer services as well as walk-in customers," Wilmoth said.

McCray said that a particular strong point of O'Reilly is the focus on customer service. "We really try to help the customer, and I've heard people say that's what makes us different," said McCray.

According to the website, O'Reilly is also dedicated to providing a good working atmosphere for employees. The store employs eight people from the Lincoln area. "The underlying spirit," according to the O'Reilly website, is "growth and progress for the company and team members."

O'Reilly is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The store can be reached by calling 732-9996.
