[JUNE 16, 2004]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Bingo

Join us Thursday at 1 p.m. for games, nutritious prizes and snacks sponsored by the Extension service.

Alzheimer support group

The monthly Alzheimer group meeting for support and service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday. No reservation is necessary.

Board meeting

The June meeting of The Oasis board is scheduled for Thursday, beginning at 5 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

June birthday party

Celebrate your June birthday party with us at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 21. Bring a friend or neighbor for fun, games, entertainment, cake and ice cream.

Legal aid

There are still appointments available if you need assistance with legal issues and meet the age and income guidelines. Call 732-6132 for an appointment for June 24 between 9 a.m. and noon.

Veterans

The VA representative will not be on-site June 22. The next date for assistance at the senior center will be July 13.

Reminder: Social Security does not provide on-site assistance at the senior center in Lincoln. Phone assistance is available by calling 1 (217) 241-6651.

Bunko

A new entertainment activity, sponsored by AARP, will start June 22 at 1 p.m. Join your friends and neighbors for Bunko games. If you don’t know how to play, join us anyway. We’ll help you learn.

Winners

Bernie Haley and Helen Cart were the weekday pinochle winners. Larry Van Bibber and Joann Eckert won on the weekend. Betty Burger and Ann Greger were the 5 in 1 winners.
