"We are very pleased that Jim has
accepted this position," said Kevin Crawford, the LCC athletic
director. "We believe that Jim brings a level of maturity and
experience to the program that will help us as we progress in
becoming a member of the NCAA III."
Corrona started his coaching
responsibilities in Lincoln this June by hosting a junior high and
high school basketball camp for boys.
Successful stints in southern Illinois
allowed him to team up with his players to garner over 400 wins at
the high school level.
In eight years of coaching at
Cincinnati Bible College, Corrona accumulated over 150 wins and had
several regional championships, sectional finals and conference
championships. Three times he led his team to the national
championships, where his teams finished fifth twice and seventh
once.

He has also coached internationally,
taking three all-star teams overseas to Helsinki, Finland; Warsaw,
Poland; and Moscow, Russia.
"I have really been blessed with not
only talented players, but dedicated players as well," he says. "I
have just been a small part of their success."
Corrona
comes to LCC from Effingham High School with his wife, Gussy. He
also has three grown children. He has a bachelor's degree in
teaching from Eastern Illinois University.
