LCHS band scores well at IHSA Solo
and Ensemble Contest

[MARCH 18, 2004]  The music department of Lincoln Community High School competed in the Illinois High School Association's State Solo and Ensemble contest March 6 at Normal Community High School. The band members accumulated 105 sweepstakes points out of a possible 126. Students received 15 superior ratings, five excellent and one good.

The following students received a superior, or Division I, rating:

Rachel Kasa, B flat clarinet solo

Joey Papuga, B flat tenor saxophone solo

Tim Wiser, B flat tenor saxophone solo

James Cosby, trumpet solo

Greg Gandenberger, E flat alto saxophone solo

Kari Last, flute solo

Meridith Laurence, flute solo

Sonya Twist, french horn solo

Eric Knutilla, snare drum solo

Michael Kasa, trombone solo

Rachel Kasa, piano solo

Bridget Ryan, piano solo

Sonya Twist, piano solo
