NOTICE OF PUBLICATION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the CITY OF LINCOLN,
ILLINOIS, will offer the following-described tracts of real estate
for sale, to-wit:
Tract 1:
328 acres generally described as all that
portion of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of
Section 27, Township 20 North1 Range 3 West of
the Third Principal Meridian, Logan County, Illinois,
located North and East of the Northeast railroad
right-of-way line located in said Quarter Section and more
particularly described as: Beginning at the Northeast corner
of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section
27, Township 20 North, Range 3 West of the Third Principal
Meridian, Logan County, Illinois; thence West along the
North line of such Quarter Quarter Section to the point said
North line intersects with the Northeast right-of-way line
of the abandoned railroad right-of-way; thence in a
Southeasterly direction on the Northeasterly right-of-way
line of said abandoned railroad right-of-way to the point
said Northeast right-of-way line intersects with the East
line of such Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of
said Section 27; thence North along the East line of said
Quarter Quarter Section to the Point of Beginning.
Tract 2:
The Northeast 107' 1.57" of Lots 7 and B in
Block 9 in the Original Town, now City of Lincoln, Logan
County, Illinois, being a vacant lot located at the
Southeast intersection of Kickapoo and Pekin Streets in
Lincoln, Illinois.
Tract 3:
Lots 3 and 4 in Block 12 in
the Original Town, now City of Lincoln, Logan County,
Illinois.
Tract 4:
Lot 10 in Block 62 of Knapp, Bird and
Tinsley's Addition to Postville, now part of City of Lincoln,
Illinois, formerly known as Lot 10 in Block 62 in
West Lincoln, now part of City of Lincoln, Logan County,
Illinois;
to the highest bidder, which bids must be submitted
to the office of the City Clerk of the City of Lincoln, clearly
marked as a bid for real estate referring to the tract number to
which the bid pertains, on or before the 25th day of May, 2004, at
5:00 p.m.
With respect to Tract 4, the City will reserve the
right to remove the existing building for a period of one (1) year
after the date of closing. The city will reserve the right to enter
upon all of the above-described parcels, if there is a successful
bidder, after the date of conveyance, for the purpose of renewing or
repairing any existing sewers or utilities located on, in, or under
said real estate.
The terms and provisions of the sale will be set
forth in a written Contract for Sale of Real Estate which is
available for review at the office of WILLIAM B. BATES, City
Attorney, 306 Clinton Street, Lincoln, Illinois 62656, Telephone:
(217) 735-1234, prior to the date of opening the bids. The
successful bidder, if there be one or more, will be required to
enter into a written agreement on the night of opening the bids. The
conveyance by the City, if any bid is accepted, shall be by Quit
Claim Deed, and the successful bidder, if there be one or more,
shall be responsible for obtaining any and all evidence of title
such bidder deems appropriate at the bidder's expense. Ten percent
(10%) of the purchase price will be required to be paid at the time
of the execution of the Contract for Sale of Real Estate, with the
balance to be paid within thirty (30) days at the time of delivery
of Deed.
The City specifically reserves the right to reject
any and all bids.
The bids will be opened at the worship session of
the City Council at their regular meeting on the 25th day of May,
2004, at 7:00 p.m. and will be placed on the agenda for the regular
City Council meeting on Monday, June 7, 2004, at 7:15 p.m.
