Donald Dumas
Donald Nelson Dumas, 91, of Lincoln
died Sunday (May 16, 2004) at 9:50 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday at Forty Martyrs Catholic Church in Tuscola, with the Rev.
Al Kemme officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the Mass at
the church.
Burial will be in Tuscola Cemetery.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of
Lincoln is handling local arrangements.
Mr. Dumas had owned and operated
Tuscola's First Package Liquors in Tuscola and Dumas Five and Ten in
Fowler, Ind.
He was born Feb. 14, 1913, in Benton
County, Ind., to Frank Edward and Sophia Passino Dumas. He married
Rosa Barbara Korbe on April 17, 1944, at Sacred Heart Church in
Fowler, Ind. She died Oct. 9, 2003.
He is survived by four daughters,
Deborah Dumas (and Paul) Short of Lincoln, Julie Dumas (and Richard)
Griffith of St. Louis, Mo., Stephanie Dumas of Pittsburgh, Pa., and
Annette Dumas Gettleman of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Patrick (and
Stephanie) Gettleman and Elizabeth Short; and one sister, Lorraine
Ebner of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by four
brothers and one sister.
He was a member of Holy Family Church
in Lincoln, Knights of Columbus in Fowler, Ind., and Tuscola, and
Rotary in Tuscola. He was a charter member of the golf course in
Fowler, Ind.
