WAYNESVILLE -- Orvil R. Johnston,
80, of Waynesville, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at 2:50 a.m.
at the Christian Village in Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m.
Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln,
with Kurt Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour
before the service.
Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Waynesville.
Mr. Johnston was a retired
farmer and a former employee of General Electric in
Bloomington.
He served in the U.S. Army
from 1943 to 1945, during World War II.
He was born Jan. 31, 1924, in
Continental, Ohio, to Orvil Ross and Edna Mae Bell Johnston.
He married Edna Mae Carpenter on Dec. 14, 1947, in Logan
County.
He is survived by one son,
Bruce (and Marie) Johnston of Beason; one daughter, Connie
(and Gordon) Hamblen of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Scott
(and Jamie) Johnston of Chestnut, Marnie Hutchison of Clinton,
Brandi (and Matt) Patterson of Lincoln, Wendy Garner of
Littleton, Jake (and Amanda) Johnston of Lincoln and Philip
(and Mary) Johnston of Waynesville; and nine
great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the
Waynesville United Methodist Church.

LINCOLN -- Jack Foster, 77, of
Lincoln died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at 10:40 p.m. at St.
John's Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7
p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Wissman officiating.
Burial, with military rites,
will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Mr. Foster was a retired iron
worker with Springfield Local 46.
He served in the U.S. Army
from 1945 to 1947.
He was born June 3, 1927, at
Waynesville to Cecil and Fern Cole Foster. He married Doris
Dengler on Jan. 31, 1948, in Atlanta.
He is survived by his wife, of
Lincoln; two sons, Jack (and Debbie) Foster of Elkhart and
Jeff Foster of Lincoln; one daughter, Jill (and Rodney)
Alberts of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Amy, Jody, Heather and
Jerad; two great-grandchildren; Aislynn and Jordy; and one
great-great-grandchild, Niya.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
He was a member of Immanuel
Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 263 and Eagles Lodge
2708.
