Child care providers program offered

[NOV. 5, 2004]  University of Illinois Extension has developed a "Healthy Moves for Healthy Children" curriculum that focuses on healthy eating and physical activity.

Logan County Extension will host this training for early childhood education teachers, including child care providers and day-care workers, on Nov. 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Jananne Finck, Nutrition and Wellness Educator with University of Illinois Extension will train individuals in the use of this curriculum for child care providers.

Training will include the topics of children's health, creating pleasant meal environments and physical activity for young children. Also included is the opportunity for participants to experience some of the physical activities from the curriculum and to prepare healthy snacks. Time will be included to discuss ways to successfully use these resources in your early childhood classroom and day-care center or home day care.
