EMDEN -- Anna Carlynn Hamer, 83, of the Christian Village in Lincoln, formerly of Emden, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at St. John's Hospice, St. John's North, in Springfield.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden. Visitation will be at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the service on Wednesday. The Rev. David Hofer will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, rural Emden.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Hamer taught for 35 years in the Hartsburg-Emden school district.

She was born Aug. 24, 1921 to Cyrus and Anna Zimmer McCormick. She married Frederick Baines Hamer in 1944 and he died in 1974.

She is survived by three sons, Bill (and Shirley) Hamer of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., Steve (and Annetta) Hamer of Sherman and Vic (and Vicki) Hamer of Baldwin; seven grandchildren, Margot and Caroline Hamer of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., Matthew and Vince Hamer of Sherman, Lindsey Hamer Newton, and Drew and Luke Hamer; two sisters, Harriet Spangler and Margot Cross, both residents of the Christian Village; and one brother-in-law, Floyd Hayes.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Etta Hayes, and two brothers, Leonard McCormick and Corliss McCormick.

She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden.

In retirement she enjoyed traveling and visiting with family and friends.

Her passions in life were her family, her students and the community of Emden.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Church.

NEW HOLLAND -- Harold W. Harnacke, 81, of New Holland died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at 9 p.m. at the Mason City Area Nursing Home.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln and the funeral will follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Carroll Richards of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lincoln will officiate.

Burial will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, rural New Holland.

Mr. Harnacke was a farmer all his life on the family farm south of New Holland. Many people will remember him for his collection of giant yard art.

He was born Sept. 27, 1923, at New Holland to Herman and Bessie Rusch Harnacke. He married Wilma Towles on Feb. 2, 1947, in New Holland.

He is survived by his wife, of New Holland; four sons, Kenny (and wife Carla) Harnacke of New Holland, Jerry (and June) of New Holland, Alan (and Linda) of Elkhorn, Wis., and Quint (and Linda) Harnacke of New Holland; one daughter, Ladonna (and Earl) Gass of Emden; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

One sister and one brother preceded him in death.

He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lincoln and had served as an elder for the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in New Holland before its move to Lincoln. He was a member of the Logan County Farm Bureau and host coordinator for the SHARE food program for 15 years.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.

EMDEN -- Leona Mae Rademaker, 80, of Emden died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at 9 a.m.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden, with the Rev. David L. Hofer officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and one hour before the service on Tuesday. 

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.

Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rademaker retired from S.S. Kresge in Lincoln, where she was a floor supervisor.

She was born May 29, 1924, in Chester Township, Logan County, to Frank and Wilma Lengyel Tomasini. She married Henry J. Rademaker on Feb. 15, 1958, at St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband, of Emden; one daughter, JoAnne (and Dave) Neathery of Springfield; one son, Greg (and Gayal) Rademaker of Emden; and one grandson, Greyson Rademaker of Emden.

Two sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rademaker was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden and the Ladies Aid Circle of the church. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary 506 in Emden and a charter member of Eagles Auxiliary 2708 in Lincoln. 

She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. 

Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Emden Fire and Rescue, or American Heart Association.
