Christmas in the village (Elkhart) Send a link to a friend

[NOV. 20, 2004]  ELKHART -- The village of Elkhart is beginning the season with each of the merchants participating in a drawing for individual merchant gifts, as well as putting items in "Santa's Sack" for a grand merchandise drawing. Entry blanks will be available from each merchant in the village and at the library, starting the day after Thanksgiving.

Holiday open houses on Dec. 3, 4 and 5 will help to spread the cheer.

The Elkhart Hill Chapel candlelight service and dinners, by reservation only, will be on Dec. 4. Call (217) 947-2238 for reservations.

Individual drawings at each Elkhart merchant location will be at noon Dec. 10.

The drawing for Santa's Sack will be done by Santa himself at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 11, during the Christmas cookie bake sale at the Elkhart Firehouse. The Elkhart Needs and Goals group is sponsoring the cookie sale, which runs from 8 to 11 a.m.

For additional information on the merchants' Christmas giveaway, call Andrea at 947-2100 or Gillette at 947-2238. For more information about the cookie sale, call Mary Ginter at 947-2349.
