May 30th - J.H. Hawes Grain Elevator Museum - The 100th Birthday of the fully restored, wooden grain elevator listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Every Sunday in June, July, and August 2004 - J.H. Hawes Grain Elevator Museum, - Open Sundays from 1 pm -3 pm. Free tours of this completely restored grain elevator constructed in 1904. The J.H. This affectionate spoof of 1950's sci-fi movies has become a household name. June 24th - 27th - "The Secret Garden" - Johnston Center of the Performing Arts - Lincoln College Campus - The 2004 season of Lincoln Community Theatre will also be featuring a children's theatre. This musical is rich in characters and has beautiful music that accompanies it. July - Latham Firefighters 55th Annual Ice Cream Social - Latham - Don't miss this annual event full of fun, games, and entertainment. The day will kick off with the antique tractor show beginning at 10 am. The food will begin being served at 11 am. Jr. Olympics will start at 2 pm, with the kids pedal tractor pull immediately following at 4 pm. Then at 5: 30 pm, to round out the day, The Bement Country Opry Band will perform until 8:30 pm. December 5th - 11th - Atlanta Aglow, Atlanta - This is the annual kick-off week to begin the Christmas season in Atlanta. Features include: The lighting of the Atlanta Christmas Tree and Caroling. Delicious hot chocolate and cookies at the Atlanta Fire Station on December 7th at 4:30 pm, and the Atlanta Elementary School Christmas Program to round out the week.
