[OCT.
21, 2004]
CHATHAM --- The Illinois Association of American Mothers Inc. is
beginning its search for exemplary mothers to recognize in 2005 at
the organization's annual celebration of motherhood. Every year each
state chooses a special mother to represent that state in a national
contest. Organizations, clubs and church groups are encouraged to
nominate outstanding mothers for this honor. |
To be eligible, mothers must be at least 45 years of age with
natural or adopted children, not more than one of whom may be under
15. Mothers will be judged on their success as a mother and their
involvement in their church and community. All nominees who have
been chosen and fulfill the requirements will be honored as State
Merit Mothers. One mother will be chosen from this honored group
to represent Illinois at the national convention of American Mothers
April 27-May 1 in Houston, Texas, as the 2005 Illinois Mother of the
Year.
American Mothers Inc., organized in 1933, was authorized by
Congress to choose a National Mother each year. This organization is
the original sponsor of Mother's Day. For more details about the
organization, visit
