Halloween in the village of Elkhart

On Friday the children from Elkhart Grade School will have their annual Halloween parade. Costumed youngsters will traverse the regular goblin trail from the school, down Main Street and then cluster at the library, where games will be played and lunch will be served. Call the library, 947-2313, for more details.

Halloween trick-or-treating hours in Elkhart will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Lincoln activities

Beginning Thursday, two great traditions continue to sweeten the young ones. Youth can begin their fun with trick-or-treating from 4 to 6 p.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre. The residents really enjoy treating the little trick-or-treaters.

Then at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., hop a broom or catch a ride from Mom or Dad in the family vehicle, whichever is more conveniently available, to the Halloween Fun Fest, which will be in full swing at the Lincoln Park District. This annual event provides safe, indoor activities for kids to enjoy: costumes, candy and games. Parents and grandparents are welcome as well. The candies and awards at this "spooktacular" event are paid for by Lincoln businesses.

Downtown Lincoln trick-or-treat with Mayor Davis will be at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Lincoln trick-or-treat hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
