MOUNT PULASKI -- Magdalen
“Maggie” Bryson, 86, of Mount Pulaski died Thursday, Sept. 16,
2004, at 5:30 p.m. at her home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5
p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the
funeral home, with the Rev. Carol Andricks officiating.
Burial will be in Steenbergen
Cemetery.
Mrs. Bryson was a bookkeeper at
Herrin's Fertilizer in Mount Pulaski before she retired.
She was born Feb. 7, 1918, in
Sangamon County to Clinton and Edith Wiesenmeyer Dawson. She
married Howard L. Bryson in Springfield on Sept. 3, 1949. He
preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter,
Marinda "Rindy" Ann (and Larry) Beccue of Warrensburg; one
granddaughter, Yvonne Beccue of Warrensburg; and one
great-grandson, Bryson Beccue of Warrensburg.
She was also preceded in death by
one sister and one brother.
She was a member of the United
Methodist Church in Mount Pulaski.
She graduated from Springfield
High School and Brown's Business College.

MIDDLETOWN --
Percy H. Boyer, 88, of Middletown died Thursday, Sept. 16,
2004, at 1:50 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
His funeral
will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln, with Allen Dean officiating. Visitation will be one
hour before the service.
Burial, with
military rites, will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery,
Middletown.
Mr. Boyer was a
farmer and a school bus driver for New Holland-Middletown.
He was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II.
He was born May
21, 1916, at Middletown to Charles Edward and Antionette
Frances Robbins Boyer. He married Mary June Deters on Nov. 11,
1950, in Lincoln.
He is survived
by his wife; one son, Ronald Boyer (and Lori) of Lincoln; one
daughter, Janet Healy of Middletown; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded
in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
He was a member
of the Middletown Presbyterian Church and American Legion Post

LINCOLN -- E. Leland Simkins, 67,
formerly of Chestnut, died Aug. 29, 2004, in Guntersville,
Ala.
A graveside service will be at 11
a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Laenna Cemetery, rural Chestnut,
with the Rev. Mark Peters officiating.
There is no visitation.
Local arrangements are being
handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Mount
Pulaski.
Mr. Simkins was employed with
Commonwealth Edison for 31 years.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard
veteran.
He was born Nov. 1, 1936, in Cook
County to Leland and Catherine Simkins. He married Elizabeth
Roos on Sept. 3, 1960, in Chestnut.
He is survived by his wife, of
Alabama; two sons, Matthew Simkins of Colorado and Leland (and
Jan) Simkins of Colorado; his mother, of Missouri; and one
brother, Jon Simkins of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his
father; one daughter, Katherine; and one brother, Jeffery.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Memorials may be made to St.
John's Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski or a charity of the
donor's choice.

MASON CITY -- Mary Alice Price,
89, of Mason City died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at 1:35 p.m.
at Mason City Area Nursing Home.
A graveside service will be at 10
a.m. Saturday at Mason City Cemetery, with Pastor William
Swaar officiating.
Mrs. Price was a homemaker.
She was born Aug. 13, 1915, in
Bethany to Mark and Nettie Haskell Wait. She married Virgil
Evon Price on April 7, 1935, in Champaign. He died April 11,
1984.
She is survived by two sons, John
(and wife Judy) Price of Troy and Joe (and wife Linda) Price
of Mason City; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by
one brother and one sister.
She a member of the Daughters of
the American Revolution Salt Creek Chapter, Mason City Woman's
Club and the Mason City United Presbyterian Church, where she
had been an officer and Sunday school teacher. She was an
active painter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Daughters of the
American Revolution or the United Presbyterian Church in Mason
City.

LINCOLN -- Mary Ella Alvey, 88,
formerly of Lincoln, died Aug. 27, 2004, at the Dammert Center
in Belleville.
A memorial service will be at 11
a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Trinity Episcopal Church in
Lincoln, with Father James Cravens officiating.
Burial will be in Atlanta
Cemetery, Atlanta.
Mrs. Alvey was a schoolteacher.
She was born Oct. 29, 1915, at
Genoa to Carl and Jennette Chestnut Bevan. She married Thomas
W. Alvey on Jan. 7, 1939. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons,
Thomas W. Alvey Jr., of Belleville and Bevan B. Alvey of
Lincoln, Neb.; one daughter, Jennette Alvey Simkins of
Belleville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Trinity
Episcopal Church, Daughters of the King, PEO and Daughters of
the American Revolution.
Memorials may be made to her church or to Family Hospice.
