[APRIL 2, 2005]  SPRINGFIELD -- Gov. Rod Blagojevich signed the following bills into law on Tuesday.

House Bill 552

Concerning: Minors

Description: Establishes exemptions to the minor curfew violation law. Details enforcement procedure for youth curfew. Clarifies language defining the offense.

Action: Approved

Effective: Immediately

House Bill 734

Concerning: Transportation

Description: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Renumbers several provisions of the DUI statute.

Action: Approved

Effective: Immediately

House Bill 768

Concerning: School funding

Description: Expands the eligibility of state school construction funds to cooperative high schools.

Action: Approved

Effective: Immediately

House Bill 1021

Concerning: Marriage and dissolution

Description: Makes a minor language change to the existing law that establishes a parent-child relationship in the situation of gestational surrogacy.

Action: Approved

House Bill 3641

Concerning: Boards, commissions

Description: Provides that a board member of any state university governing board may be an employee of the federal government.

Action: Approved

Effective: Immediately

Senate Bill 738

Concerning: Departments of state government

Description: Exempts employees of the State Board of Elections from the State Personnel Code, thereby allowing them to create their own personnel code.

Action: Approved

Effective: Immediately
