Lincoln College helps Toys for Tots       Send a link to a friend

[DEC. 21, 2004]  Members of the Lincoln College Student Senate collected 149 toys that will be donated to the area Toys for Tots campaign.

The director of student activities, Jeff Nelson, says the goal was to help as many children as possible. "This project was an opportunity for the Lincoln College community to give back to those in need during the holidays,” he said. “We are grateful for the generosity of those who participated."

Nelson said a turkey donated by Bill Campbell and Charlie Lee at Lincoln IGA was used as a prize for a raffle for those who gave toys. "We tried to have fun while doing this as well as encourage everyone to donate more than one toy,” Nelson said. “And with our final number, I think it worked."

Donna Turner of Lincoln was the winner of the turkey.

Donating to the Toys for Tots campaign is an annual event for Lincoln College student groups.
