            The Oasis, Logan 
            County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open 
            weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also 
            open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is 
            the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County 
            senior citizens, regardless of membership. | 
        
          | Maple 
            Ridge will sponsor "light lunch" bingo Maple Ridge Care Centre will sponsor 
            the bingo games that begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at The Oasis. At noon, 
            Maple Ridge will provide light lunch items, consisting of soup and 
            crackers, for all seniors. Come early, have some soup, and join the 
            fun! Glaucoma 
            screening The Oasis is taking appointments for 
            free glaucoma screening. Times are available Friday between 1 and 3 
            p.m. Call 732-6132 or 732-5844. This free service is provided by Dr. 
            Sandra Pelfrey-Jones of Baller Eye Care. Computer 
            classes begin Monday Winter computer classes will begin 
            Jan. 10 at The Oasis. Computer Basics will run from 9:30 to 10:30 
            a.m. Jan. 10-14. E-mail/Internet classes will run from 9:30 to 10:30 
            a.m. Jan. 24-28. Reservations are required. Call 732-6132 or 
            732-5844. Tuesday 
            lunch The 11:30 a.m. lunch on Jan. 11 will 
            feature beef stew, green beans, bread and butter, dessert, and a 
            drink for only $3.75. Ticket purchase deadline is noon Monday.

       Meeters 
            and Greeters The Oasis will host the Meeters and 
            Greeters meeting beginning at 2 p.m. Monday. Anyone interested in 
            joining the group may drop by at that time. The group visits 
            individuals throughout the county who cannot get out and attend all 
            the activities but desire to have company for a brief visit. 
             Veterans A VA representative will be at the 
            senior center on Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon. No appointment is 
            necessary, but be sure to come early. Service is on a first-come, 
            first-served basis. Winners 
            announced Dolly Mears and Christine March were 
            weekday winners for pinochle. The weekend pinochle winners were 
            Helen Cart and Les Van Bibber. 
            Newsletter Friends of The Oasis members receive 
            a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and
