Site offers information on legislation plus live video monitoring of Senate and House       Send a link to a friend

[JAN. 11, 2005]  SPRINGFIELD -- A new Web address will make it easier for Illinois citizens to check the status of pending state legislation, according to state Sen. Bill Brady, R-Bloomington.

In December, the state's legislative website moved to www.ilga.gov. Visitors to the old address, www.legis.state.il.us, will be automatically directed to the new site.

Sen. Brady says the site features detailed information on legislation, legislative committees and their members, a brief biography of each legislator, transcripts of floor action, the Illinois Constitution, and a downloadable calendar detailing when the General Assembly is in Springfield.

Another recent change is live video coverage of Senate floor action, courtesy of a Web camera. The site also offers the option of listening to audio feeds from the Senate chamber as business is being conducted.

The House of Representatives can also be monitored via live video and audio feeds.
