The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.
Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension
to sponsor bingo
The Logan County Extension Unit will
sponsor the bingo games that will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the
senior center. Nutritious prizes! Come join the fun!
Alzheimer
support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will
meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the senior center. No reservation is
necessary. The group provides support and information for caregivers
and extended family. It is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple
Ridge Care Centre.
Memories
class
The monthly Memories class is
scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Friday in the senior center library. No
reservation is necessary. Participants should bring their own pen
and paper to learn skills needed to preserve memories for families
and friends.

food is coming Friday
Self Help and Resource Exchange food
orders may be picked up between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Friday. Also,
February orders may be placed then. The Catholic Diocese of Peoria
sponsors the program, which is open to everyone, regardless of
faith, age or income.

January
birthday party
Birthday time! Monday at 1:30 p.m.
it’s time to celebrate your January birthday with us. There will be
games, prizes, entertainment, and cake and ice cream. Bring a
friend.
Tuesday
lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch on Jan. 25 will
feature beef stew, salad, bread and butter, dessert, and a drink for
only $3.75. The ticket purchase deadline is noon Monday.
Steve
Siltman visits Think Tank
Steve Siltmann, director of the
Logan County Paramedics, will speak at 9 a.m. Jan. 26 on issues
related to funding and services. No reservation is necessary to
attend the Think Tank meeting
Winners
announced
Helen Cart and Larry Van Bibber were
weekday winners for pinochle. Weekend pinochle winners were Linda
Hughes and Ruth Ackerman.
