The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Potluck and bingo Thursday
Come join us for the Thursday potluck, beginning at 11:30 a.m. We
will feature fried chicken, ice cream sundaes and wonderful side
dishes. Seniors are invited to bring a dish to pass or a $3
donation. The senior center will sponsor the weekly bingo games,
beginning at 1 p.m. Come enjoy an afternoon of fun and surprises!
Blood pressure checks
The senior center offers free blood pressure checks every Friday
between 10 and 11:30 a.m. No appointment necessary.
July birthday party
Birthday time! Monday at 1:30 p.m. it's time to celebrate your
July birthday with us. There will be games, prizes, entertainment,
and cake and ice cream. Come join the fun and bring a friend.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for July 19 will feature hot turkey
sandwiches, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, dessert and a drink for
only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. The ticket deadline
is noon Monday.
Card winners announced
Mina Bradburn and Linda Hughes were weekday pinochle winners.
Paul Klemm was the weekend pinochle winner for Friday and Saturday.
Five-in-one winners were Henry Warnisher and Betty Burger.
