Excessive heat warning canceled

The National Weather Service in Lincoln canceled the excessive heat warning that had been in effect for the counties of Cass, Champaign, Christian, Clark, Clay, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, Logan, Macon, Menard, Morgan, Moultrie, Piatt, Richland, Sangamon, Scott, Shelby and Vermilion, including the cities of Champaign, Danville, Decatur, Effingham, Flora, Jacksonville, Lawrenceville, Lincoln, Mattoon, Shelbyville, Springfield and Taylorville.

Heat indexes fell below warning criteria Monday night, and the excessive heat warning was canceled.

Heat advisory canceled

The National Weather Service in Lincoln canceled the heat advisory that had been in effect for the counties of Fulton, Knox, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Peoria, Schuyler, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford, including the cities of Bloomington, Galesburg, Havana and Peoria.

Heat indexes fell below advisory criteria Monday night, and the heat advisory was canceled.
