SPRINGFIELD -- The arena concert lineup for the
2005 Illinois State Fair was announced recently by Amy Bliefnick,
manager of the fair. The venue will offer five nights of concerts,
including $7 shows with '70s rock favorites Blue Oyster Cult and
George Thorogood, in addition to three free nights of music.

"When booking concerts for
the 2005 state fair, we truly wanted to make sure there was
something for everyone," Bliefnick said. "By filling the arena each
night, along with the grandstand entertainment the fair attracted,
we were able to do that. The arena is a smaller, more intimate
venue, and we're using it to bring great, inexpensive and, in many
cases, free entertainment to our visitors at the fair." Area
tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations as well as by
phone and Internet. To order tickets by phone, call 1 (800) 827-8927
or TTY 1 (800) 359-2525. The state fair ticket office opened June 4.
The 2005 Illinois State Fair will be Aug. 12-21 in Springfield.
