The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also
is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.
Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and
trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Oasis potluck and bingo Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for
the monthly potluck lunch, featuring grilled hamburgers and hot
dogs. Salads, side dishes and desserts will be available. Bring a
dish to pass or come in for our Father’s Day special with a $1
donation. Stay for bingo games sponsored by the senior center, the
lunch drawing and many more surprises. Bring a friend and come join
the fun.
Ice cream social
On Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. the senior center will host an ice
cream social, with homemade cakes and generous portions of some good
old-fashioned ice cream. Enjoy playing cards or just visiting with
friends. Tickets for the event are available at the senior center
for $3 per person.
Tuesday lunch available
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for June 14 will feature chicken patty
sandwiches, cole slaw, baked beans, dessert and a drink for only
$3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Ticket purchase deadline
is noon Monday.
VA representative at senior center
The VA representative will be available from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday. No appointments necessary. Come early!

at the front desk.

Card winners announced
Eleanor Barton and Helen Cart were weekday winners for pinochle.
Weekend pinochle winners were Mina Bradburn and Les Van Bibber. The
five-in-one winners were Bernie DePuy and Joann Eckert.
