The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also
is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.
Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and
trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Extension
to sponsor bingo
The Logan County Extension Unit will
sponsor the bingo games that will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the
senior center. There will be nutritious prizes. Come join the fun!
Alzheimer
support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will
meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at The Oasis. No reservation is necessary.
The group provides support and information for caregivers and
extended family. It is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge
Care Centre.
Oasis
board meeting
The monthly board meeting of the
Senior Citizens of Logan County will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at the
senior center. The meeting is open to the public. The board must
receive notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the
month prior to a meeting date in order to schedule any items on the
agenda.

food is coming Friday
Self Help and Resource Exchange food
orders may be picked up between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Friday. April orders
also may be placed then. The Catholic Diocese of Peoria sponsors the
program, which is open to everyone regardless of faith, age or
income.

March
birthday party
Birthday time! On Monday at 1:30
p.m. it's time to celebrate your March birthday with us. There will
be games, prizes, entertainment, and cake and ice cream. Bring a
friend and come join the fun.
Tuesday
lunch
The 11:30 lunch on March 22 will
feature goulash, salad, bread and butter, dessert and a drink for
only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play. Ticket purchase deadline
is noon Monday.
Have
cards, will travel!
The Oasis could use your help in
reclaiming the pinochle traveling trophy from Taylorville seniors.
On March 23 an Oasis group will traveling to Taylorville for an
entire day of fun, cards, food and meeting new friends at the
Christian County Senior Center. Please make reservations by Monday.
The cost is $7 for transportation, cards and lunch.
Card
winners announced
Linda Hughes and Dan Davis were
weekday winners for pinochle. Weekend pinochle winners were Linda
Hughes and Ruth Ackerman. Winners for five-in-one were Betty Burger
and Joann Eckert.
