It was reported that the membership of the Lincoln AMVETS post is
now 100 percent renewed. New members are welcomed. Under the
Americanism program, it was reported that all orders through Sept.
15 for Veterans Honor Roll bricks have been filled and are included
in the 1,773 that are laid. The Union Street side of the memorial is
now filled, and all future orders will be laid on the College Avenue
side of the monument. Members were urged to pass the word around and
collect orders for bricks to be laid as soon as possible, since
winter will soon be upon us. Order forms can be picked up at the
park.
Members have continued to participate in military funerals and
also were involved in the opening and closing ceremonies at the
Logan County Fair.
A scholarship donation was sent in memory of the mother of an
AMVETS member.
Get-well, sympathy and thinking-of-you cards have been sent.

A member attended the meeting of the Logan County
Courthouse Centennial Parade Committee and sent notices of the plans
to all the Logan County veterans organizations. The brochure was
reported on at this meeting, and all veterans who are able to attend
are urged to do so.
Members continue to work with 4-H children, assisted
with another benefit for a liver transplant child, and a member
continues work with the local food pantry. Donations are given to
the food pantry through churches.
The next meeting will be Nov. 21 at 4 p.m. at 1417
N. Logan St.
