The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension service to sponsor bingo
The Logan County Extension Unit will sponsor the bingo games that
begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the senior center. Come join the fun and
win food prizes!
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet 1 p.m. Thursday in The
Oasis library. No reservation is necessary. The group provides
support and information for caregivers and extended family and is
facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Pharmacist will review prescriptions
Pharmacist Camille Wissmann will be at the senior center from 1
to 3 p.m. Friday to review prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs and
herbal supplements that seniors may be taking. Appointments are
available; please call 732-6132.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Oct. 25 will feature baked ham, au
gratin potatoes, broccoli, bread and butter, dessert, and a drink
for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Ticket deadline
is Monday.
Think tank
Seniors are invited to join us Oct. 26 for an informative
discussion, questions and answers with Darlene Freeman, a trained
volunteer for Circuit Breaker and the new Medicare prescription drug
plan. The session begins at 9 a.m.
Winners for the week announced
Marjorie Reiners and Irene Tumilty were pinochle winners for
Friday and Sunday night. Linda Hughes was weekday pinochle winner.
Friday night five-in-one winners were Dorothy Oltmanns and Betty
Burger.
