Work zone areas will be opened for normal traffic patterns to the
extent possible from 3 p.m. Friday until midnight Monday.
However, a number of work zone areas will have lane closures over
the weekend. Department of Transportation officials are advising
motorists to slow down and be alert in areas that are marked as work
zones and to obey posted work zone speed limits.

The following Chicago-area expressways and state roads will have
lane closures and lane restrictions:
Kingery Expressway (Interstate 80-94) -- One lane closed in each
direction from Glenwood-Lansing Road to I-80. Ramp from northbound
Illinois 394 to northbound Tri-State closed. Torrence Avenue one
lane in each direction at Kingery.
Bishop Ford Expressway (I-94) -- One lane closed in each
direction from 159th Street to I-80. Ramp from northbound Ford to
eastbound 159th closed. Ramp from southbound Ford to eastbound
Kingery reduced to one lane.
Illinois 394 -- One lane in each direction between
Glenwood-Lansing Road and I-80. Northbound 394 to northbound
Tri-State closed.
Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90-94) -- State Street northbound and
southbound lanes are reduced to one lane in each direction. The left
lane is closed on northbound State Street from 91st to 85th Street.
Southbound 59th Street entrance and exit ramps are closed. The left
lane is closed on Yale at 63rd Street. Wells Street is closed from
63rd to 67th Street. Southbound express lanes from 63rd to 71st will
be open. Northbound, four express lanes will be open from 63rd
Street to 71st. The left lane of Lafayette Avenue will be closed
from 95th to 99th Street-Wentworth Avenue.
Wentworth Bridge from south of 63rd to 65th will remain closed.
The State Street exit ramp from the westbound Skyway ramp will
remain closed, with detour posted. Southbound State Street from 65th
to 66th will still have a right-lane closure.
Kennedy Expressway (I-90) -- Left and right shoulder closures at
Nagle Avenue. Exit ramp closed to northbound Mannheim Road. Detour
posted to northbound Cumberland.
I-55 northbound to Illinois 59 is closed. Detour posted; next
exit U.S. 52.
U.S. 12-45 (Mannheim Road) over Illinois 64 (North Avenue) -- One
lane in each direction.
Illinois 53 from Army Trail Road to Illinois 64 and North Avenue
-- Widening and resurfacing roads. One lane in each direction.
Palatine-Willow Road -- Express lanes closed at Illinois 83
(Elmhurst Road) and at Illinois 21 (Milwaukee Avenue) bridge.
Oak Park Avenue from Illinois 38 to Illinois 64 -- Resurfacing of
road. One lane in each direction.
U.S. 12-45 (Mannheim Road over I-190 and I-190 westbound under
Mannheim Road and along I-190 at U.S. 12-45) -- One lane in each
direction.
Southwest Highway from 95th Street to Ridgeland Avenue -- One
lane in each direction.
Lockwood Avenue from 167th to 174th Street -- One lane in each
direction.
Meacham Road from Tower Road-McConnor Parkway to Algonquin Road
and Tower Road-McConnor Parkway -- One lane in each direction.
Church Road from U.S. 20 to West Grand Avenue and on Oak Lawn
Avenue, Fullerton Avenue and Wrightwood Avenue -- Pavement
reconstruction and traffic signal modernization. One lane in each
direction.
Oak Park Avenue from 111th Street to 115th Street -- One lane in
each direction.
Diehl Road from Eola to Country Club Boulevard -- One lane in
each direction.
Main Street bridge over the west branch of the DuPage River
between Walter Street and Chicago Avenue -- Road closed. Detour
posted.
Main Street bridge over the Fox River -- Road closed. Detour
posted.
Granart Road from Jericho Road to Rhodes -- Bridge over Big Rock
Creek closed. Detour posted.
Lake Marion Road (Illinois 25 to Washington Street) -- Road
closed. Detour posted.
Fairfield Road and Ivanhoe Road in Wauconda -- One lane in each
direction.
Illinois 173 over Piscasaw Creek Overflow -- Shoulder closed on
westbound Illinois 137.
Illinois 137 over U.S. 45 -- Traffic reduced to one lane on
Illinois 173, with the use of temporary traffic signals.
South Street over U.S. 14 -- One lane in each direction on South
Street.
Illinois 22 east of Illinois 43 to Ridge Road -- One lane in each
direction.
Illinois 83 over the Wisconsin Central Ltd. Railroad -- One lane
in each direction.
Deerfield Road from Wilmot Road to Park Avenue -- Road closed.

Port Clinton Road and Prairie Road -- One lane in each direction.
U.S. 14 at Mokeler Creek to north of Illinois 173 -- Traffic is
shifted to the east side of the bridge, with one lane open in each
direction.
U.S. 14-Pingree Road -- One lane open in each direction.
U.S. 6, U.S. 52 (McDonough Street bridge) over the Des Plaines
River -- The bridge and roadway are closed to traffic throughout the
duration of the project. Motorists should follow the posted detour.

Projects across the state will have closings in the following
locations:
Champaign County
Illinois Route 49 -- Road closed 1½ miles north of Homer for the
removal and replacement of the existing bridge. A marked route
detour is in effect.
Christian County
Illinois 48 at Stonington -- One lane of traffic open, using
temporary traffic signals, for the installation of a three-sided box
culvert.
Clark County
Illinois Route 1, one mile north of West Union -- Bridge
rehabilitation. Traffic is controlled by temporary traffic signals.
Piatt County
I-72 at Illinois Route 10, Milepost 172 -- Route 10 over I-72 is
closed for the removal and replacement of the existing bridge deck.
The interchange ramps are open. A marked detour is in effect.
Vermilion County
U.S. Route 136, one mile east of Potomac -- Bridge
rehabilitation. One lane is open, with traffic controlled by
temporary traffic signals.
Bureau County
Illinois 26, at bridge 4.5 miles south of Illinois 92, near
Kasbeer -- Traffic down to one lane, controlled by traffic signals.
Lee County
Illinois 38 bridge over Franklin Creek, west of the village of
Franklin Grove -- Bridge replacement restricts traffic to one lane
controlled by traffic signals.
Ogle County
Illinois 64 bridges just west of the Ogle-DeKalb County line --
Replacement of two bridges restricts traffic to one lane controlled
by traffic signals.
Rock Island County
U.S. 150 at three bridges in the village of Coal Valley -- Bridge
replacement restricts traffic to one lane controlled by traffic
signals.
Stephenson County
Business U.S. 20 in Freeport from Pleasant Street to South Street
-- Roadway closed for reconstruction, with traffic detoured on South
Street and Illinois 26.
Business U.S. 20 bridge over Yellow Creek, one mile east of

Peoria and Tazewell County
I-74 closed at the Illinois River. Eastbound I-74 from Milepost
92 to 96 closed for pavement reconstruction, including entrance and
exit ramps at Riverfront Drive (Exit 94), and Illinois Route 116
(Exit 95). Eastbound and westbound I-74 from Milepost 91 to 92
closed for pavement reconstruction. Motorists are asked to use I-474
as an alternate route around the Peoria area.
Peoria County
I-74 eastbound exit and entrance ramps at Gale Avenue (Exit 90)
and War Memorial Drive (Exit 89) closed for pavement reconstruction.
Motorists should use the newly constructed Sterling Avenue
interchange (Exit 88) as an alternate route.
I-74 eastbound and westbound is one lane in each direction from
Milepost 88 to 89 for pavement reconstruction.
Woodford County
I-74 eastbound and westbound from Milepost 109 to Milepost 120 is
one lane in each direction for roadway resurfacing and bridge work.
St. Clair County
Lane restrictions using barrier wall for stage construction on
the structure carrying I-255 over Prairie DuPont Diversion Channel.
Two lanes will remain open at all times in each direction.
Stage construction along Illinois Route 157 near I-64 is reducing
the number of lanes from two to one in the southbound direction.
Randolph County
Staged construction with temporary traffic signals along Illinois
Route 3 approximately 1½ miles north of Ruma.
