The Salvation Army is operating homeless shelters and is prepared to
serve up to 500,000 hot meals per day to first responders and
victims of Hurricane Katrina. Unfortunately, because of the lack
of electricity and storage areas, there is no way to handle food
drive donations or clothing items at the present time. The best way
to assist The Salvation Army as it helps those devastated by the
hurricane is by cash donations. A $100 donation will feed a family
of four for two days, provide for two cases of drinking water and
provide a household cleanup kit.
