The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Potluck and bingo
Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for the monthly potluck lunch,
featuring spaghetti, garlic bread, salads, special dishes and
wonderful desserts. Bring a dish to pass or a $3 donation. Stay for
bingo games sponsored by the senior center, the lunch drawing and
many more surprises. Bring a friend.
Need help with insurance forms?
The Oasis and the Senior Health Insurance Program sponsor
assistance to seniors with insurance forms. The volunteers are
trained by the Department of Insurance to guide you through problems
involving Medicare, Medicare supplements, long-term care insurance,
retiree health plans, claims processing and appealing denied claims.
You can call the senior center at 732-6132 to schedule an
appointment for any Thursday afternoon.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Sept. 13 will feature Swedish meat balls
with noodles, mixed vegetables, bread and butter, dessert, and a
drink for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Ticket
deadline is Monday.
New hours for the VA representative
A Veterans Administration representative will be available from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday. No appointments are necessary. Service is on
a first-come, first-served basis.
