The Board of Education
places a high value on its excellent teachers and staff and we are
pleased to have reached a fair and financially responsible three
year agreement,” stated Rick Hobler, Board President. “The new
agreement will allow us to continue to focus on the schools mission
of inspiring each student to lifelong success.”
The new contract
provides for a salary schedule with a base amount, including
mandatory teachers’ retirement contributions, as follows: $29,236.26
for the 2005-2006 school year, $30,005.49 for 2006-2007, and
$30,774.72 for 2007-08. The average increase in salary is
approximately 3% across the board in each of the three years.
Additionally, health and dental benefits will continue to be
adequately funded by the district while, at the same time, requiring
teachers to bear additional costs for deductibles and co-pays.
Additionally, changes in contract language affecting employee
benefits and working conditions, including those required by
recently passed state laws, were also mutually agreed upon.
