This year's Heritage Days festival in Lincoln
is starting out with a bang. A pancake and sausage breakfast on
Sunday at the American Legion Hall, 1740 Fifth St., will benefit the
Heritage Days festival and the Lincoln fireworks display. Beginning
at 8 a.m. and ending at 1 p.m., everyone is invited to come out and
enjoy the breakfast, bake sale and prizes.

Tickets for the breakfast will be $6, though children 6 and under
will be admitted free. Carryouts will be available. All proceeds
from the event will go toward Lincoln Heritage Days and Lincoln
fireworks. Tickets are available at the following local
businesses: Serendipity Stitches & Custom Framing, Beans & Such, The
Mustard Moon, Treasure Chest, Sew Many Friends, Action Rental, Glenn
Brunk Stationers, MKS Jewelers, YMCA, City Hall, Lincoln Park
District, Lincoln College Museum, and the Abraham Lincoln Tourism
Bureau of Logan County (Information Station).
"The cost of fireworks displays and insurance keeps increasing,"
said Mayor Beth Davis. "We need the support of the public through
our breakfast fundraiser to assist us with providing a really fun
Fourth of July weekend this year. We hope everyone can join us at
the breakfast and enjoy our Heritage festivities later this summer."

The mayor and the city of Lincoln have, in just a few short
years, made the Heritage Days event one of the top three in Logan
County, along with the Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival and the
Abraham Lincoln National Railsplitting Contest and Crafts Festival.
Lincoln Heritage Days will kick off on June 30 and conclude with
a fireworks display on July 4. More information on the festival will
be available later.
