The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension to sponsor bingo
The Logan County Extension Unit will sponsor the Thursday bingo
games at the senior center, beginning at 1 p.m. Come join the fun
and win food prizes.
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the
senior center library. No reservation is necessary. The group
provides support and information for caregivers and extended family
and is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Board meeting is open to public
Oasis board meetings are open to the public, and the April
meeting is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday. To schedule any
agenda times, the board must receive notification in writing on or
before the fifth day of the month prior to a meeting date.
Memories class
The Memories class is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Friday in the
senior center library. No reservation is necessary. Participants
should bring their own pen and paper to learn skills needed to
preserve memories for families and friends.

SHARE food is coming Friday
Self Help and Resource Exchange food orders may be picked up
Friday between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Orders for next month can also be
placed then. The Catholic Diocese of Peoria sponsors the program,
which is open to everyone regardless of faith, age or income.
Bunco
The bunco games will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the senior center.
Bring a friend and come join the fun. Last month's winner was Janet
Behrends.
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for April 18 will feature cabbage rolls,
green beans, bread and butter, dessert, and a drink for only $3.75,
or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Ticket deadline is noon Monday.
Winners for the week announced
Alice Thornton and Linda Hughes were the weekday pinochle
winners. The weekend pinochle winners were Helen Opperman and Ruth
Ackerman. Winners at five-in-one were Dorothy Oltmanns and Henry
Warnisher. Congratulations.
