The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Light lunch bingo
Maple Ridge Care Centre will sponsor "light lunch bingo," with
lunch beginning at noon Thursday at The Oasis. Bingo will follow at
1 p.m. Come join the fun and win a prize!
Senior Day
Senior Day at the Logan County Fair is Friday. Maple Ridge Care
Centre sponsors admission. There will be entertainment, bingo,
refreshments and much more, beginning at 11:30 a.m. All activities
will be in the Special Events Building.
Meeters and Greeters
The Meeters and Greeters group will meet Monday 2 p.m. at The
Oasis. This group visits those who are unable to get out and visit.
The volunteers add a bright spot in their life.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Aug. 8 features tater tot casserole,
carrot and celery sticks, bread and butter, dessert, and a drink for
only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. The reservation
deadline is 4 p.m. Monday.
Weekly winners announced
Doris Steffens and Larry VanBibber were weekday pinochle winners,
and the weekend winners were Eileen Kohl and Pat Geskey. The
five-in-one winners were Joann Eckert and Tome Garrison. Rummy
winners were Betty Burger and Ella Lee Graney.
Winners the week before were Doris Steffens, Mable Hoagland,
Esther Will and Harold Goodman for pinochle. Bernie DePuy and
Marilyn Schneider won five-in-one, and the rummy winner was Betty
Burger.
