[AUG. 31, 2006]  The State Bank of Lincoln has entered into an agreement to purchase the deposits and real estate of the Central Illinois Bank office located at 428 Keokuk in Lincoln. Regulatory approval was granted on Aug. 29. State Bank anticipates the actual purchase to occur on Sept. 14.

Since there are three State Bank of Lincoln branches in close proximity to the CIB office, State Bank plans to close that facility the day of the purchase.

"I am happy to report that CIB employees Kay Bauer and Lorna Wood have accepted positions with the State Bank of Lincoln," said Steve Aughenbaugh, bank president. Bauer and Wood will work at the State Bank West branch located at 818 Woodlawn Road.

Beginning Sept. 14, CIB customers will be able to use any of State Bank's four facilities and six ATMs in Lincoln.

"Our goal is to make this a seamless transition for the CIB customers," Aughenbaugh said.
