The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension to sponsor bingo Logan County Extension will
sponsor the bingo games Thursday, beginning at 1 p.m., at The Oasis.
Come join the fun and win food prizes.
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the
senior center's library. No reservation is necessary. The group
provides support and information for caregivers and extended family
and is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Board meeting is open to public
The July board meeting for The Oasis is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Thursday and is open to the public. To schedule any agenda items,
the board must receive notification in writing on or before the
fifth day of the month prior to a meeting date.
Bunco
Bunco games will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the senior center.
Bring a friend and come for a day of fun! Refreshments provided.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for July 25 will feature Polish sausage,
kraut and potatoes, bread and butter, dessert, and a drink for only
$3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. The reservation deadline
is 4 p.m. Monday.
Winners for the week announced
Mina Bradburn was the weekday pinochle winner. The weekend
pinochle winners were Esther Will and Alice Petro. The five-in-one
winners were Tom Garrison and Henry Warnisher. Congratulations.
Summer card party winners
The pinochle winners were Alice Petro, first place, with a score
of 5,880; Pauline Boward, second place; and Ruth Ackerman, third.
The bridge winners were Charlene Bowers, first place, with a score
of 2,970; Mary Wieland, second; and Betty Oltmanns, third. The rummy
winners were Betty Burger, first place; Marilyn Schneider, second;
and Dorothy Oltmanns, third.
