The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension to sponsor bingo The Logan County Extension Unit
will sponsor the bingo games on Thursday beginning at 1 p.m. at the
senior center. Come join the fun and win a food prize.
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the
senior center's library. No reservation is necessary. The group
provides support and information for caregivers and extended family
and is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Board meeting open to public
The Oasis board meeting for June begins at 5 p.m. Thursday and is
open to the public. To schedule any agenda times, the board must
receive notification on or before the fifth day of the month prior
to a meeting date.
Book club
Come join the book club at the senior center. The scheduled time
is 1 p.m. Monday. Bring a friend and enjoy the rewards of reading a
book and sharing your thoughts.
June birthday party
Birthday time! Come celebrate June birthdays with us at the
senior center at 1:30 p.m. Monday. There will be games, prizes,
entertainment, and cake and ice cream. Bring a friend and join the
fun.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for June 20 features stuffed peppers,
potatoes, bread and butter, dessert, and a drink for only $3.75, or
$3.25 if you stay and play cards. Reservation deadline is 4 p.m.
Monday.
Van trips
The Oasis has arranged two new van trips:

Wednesday, June 21
-- Sullivan theater presentation: "Do Patent Leather Shoes
Reflect Up?" Depart from the senior center at 10:30 a.m. and
arrive back at 5:30 p.m. Reservations need to be in by June 14.

Saturday, July 8 --
Morning Star Tea Room in Salisbury. Depart at 11 a.m. and return
to the senior center at 4 p.m. Reservations need to be in by
July 3.

Winners for the week announced
Larry Van Bibber and Linda Hughes were weekday pinochle winners.
Weekend pinochle winners were Larry Van Bibber and Helen Opperman.
Winners at five-in-one were Henry Warnisher and Betty Burger. The
rummy winners were Ella Lee Graney and Ruth Barry. Congratulations.
