The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Oasis potluck and bingo
Corned beef and cabbage will be the featured entree for the
potluck meal that will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the senior
center. Participants are asked to bring a dish to pass or a $3
donation. Besides the meal, the event will feature entertainment and
a drawing for lunch, sponsored by Cracker Barrel. Bingo, sponsored
by the Christian Village, will begin at 1 p.m. Bring a friend and
come enjoy the fun!
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for March 14 will feature beef stew, cheese
and crackers, dessert, and a drink for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you
stay and play cards. The reservation deadline is noon Monday.

Think tank
March 15 at 9:15 a.m. the Lincoln Rural Fire Department
representative will be at The Oasis to discuss the upcoming
referendum on the proposed new building construction. Come on out
and make yourself available to become an informed voter.
Winners for the week announced
Larry Van Bibber, Henry Warnisher, Eleanor Barton, Bernie Halley
and Betty Oltmanns were weekday pinochle winners for Feb. 14, 21 and
27. The weekend pinochle winners were Larry VanBibber, Paul Klemm,
Harold Goodman and Wilbur Wilmert. The winners for five-in-one were
Henry Warnisher, Joann Eckert, Bernie DePuy and Betty Burger.
