Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee approves bill with
funding
for Illinois projects

WASHINGTON -- The Agriculture Appropriations
Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday
approved by voice vote the fiscal 2007 appropriations bill for the
U.S. Department of Agriculture. The bill contains $18.4 billion in
discretionary spending and $76.079 billion in mandatory spending.
This is the first step in the process for agriculture funding for
fiscal 2007. The full Appropriations Committee is scheduled to
consider the bill next week.

requested by U.S. Rep. Ray LaHood, R-Peoria.
