[MAY 10, 2006]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Oasis potluck

Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for the monthly potluck lunch, featuring ham and potato casserole, salads, and wonderful desserts. Bring a dish to pass or a $1 donation for our Mother Day’s special. Stay for bingo games, sponsored by Christian Village. The lunch drawing is sponsored by the Arcade, and there will be more surprises.

Senior celebration

Seats available! The Oasis van trip to the Senior Celebration at the Orr Building in Springfield will be May 17. Cost is $8 for members and $10 for nonmembers. Call to make reservations at 732-6132.

Tuesday lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for May 16 features chili, salad, corn bread muffins, dessert and a drink for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Reservation deadline is noon Monday.

Winners for the week announced

Linda Hughes was the weekday pinochle winner. The weekend pinochle winners were Esther Will and Les Van Bibber. The five-in-one winners were Bernie DePuy, Ella Graney and Henry Warnisher. Congratulations.
