The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension to sponsor bingo Logan County Extension will
sponsor the bingo games beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday at The Oasis.
There will be food prizes. Come join the fun.
Alzheimer's support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in The
Oasis library. No reservation is necessary. The group provides
support and information for caregivers and extended family. Meetings
are facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Board meeting open to public
The Oasis board meeting on Thursday is open to the public and
begins at 5 p.m. To schedule any agenda times, the board must
receive notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the
month prior to a meeting date
Food orders
Self Help and Resource Exchange food orders may be picked up
between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Friday. June orders also may be placed then.
The Catholic Diocese of Peoria sponsors the program, which is open
to everyone, regardless of faith, age or income.

Book club
Come join our very own book club. Rekindle the rewards of reading
a book and either sharing your thoughts with the group or just
sitting back listening to others. The scheduled time is 1 p.m.
Monday. Coffee and tea will be provided. Bring a friend and enjoy
reading.
May birthday party
Birthday time! Monday at 1:30 p.m. it's time to celebrate your
May birthday with us. There will be games, prizes, entertainment,
and cake and ice cream. Bring a friend and come join the fun.
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for May 23 features barbecued pork on a bun,
tater tots, salad, dessert and a drink for only $3.75, or $3.25 if
you stay and play cards. Reservation deadline is noon Monday.
Winners for the week announced
Chris March and Mina Bradburn were the weekday pinochle winners.
The weekend pinochle winners were Linda Hughes and Helen Cart. The
winners at five-in-one were Henry Warnisher and Dorothy Oltmanns.
