The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Maple Ridge to sponsor bingo
Maple Ridge Care Centre will sponsor the Thursday bingo games,
which begin at 1 p.m. Come join the fun and win some prizes!
Oasis Christmas open house
Start your holiday shopping season by visiting the Christmas open
house at the senior center on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3
p.m. Our Oasis elves have been working all year creating those
special items. All proceeds are used to support the activities and
program of the senior center. Happy holiday shopping!
Book club
The book club at the senior center is scheduled for Monday,
beginning at 1 p.m. Rekindle the rewards of reading a book and
either sharing your thoughts with the group or just sitting back and
listening to others. Refreshments will be provided.
Meeters and Greeters
The Meeters and Greeters group will meet Monday, beginning at 2
p.m., at the senior center. This group of volunteers visits once a
month with those who cannot get out, to add a bright spot in their
life. If you would like to participate or would like more

VA services
The representative from the Veterans Administration will be at
The Oasis every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment is
necessary. Service is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Oasis Belles
The Red Hat group, the Oasis Belles, will meet on Tuesday,
beginning at 11 a.m. Join us for lunch, served at 11:30. Please make
your lunch reservations by noon Friday.
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Nov. 7 will feature butter dill chicken,
white potatoes, salad, bread and butter, and a dessert for only
$3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Reservation deadline is
noon Monday.
Winners for the week announced
Linda Hughes was the weekday pinochle winner. The weekend
pinochle winner was Wally Reifsteck. Congratulations.
