Health department to administer flu vaccine          Send a link to a friend

[NOV. 7, 2006]  The Logan County Health Department began giving flu shots Monday and will continue through Thursday of this week, starting at 7:30 each morning and continuing until 4 p.m. The health department is closed Friday for the Veterans Day holiday. Beginning next week, flu vaccine will be available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The cost of the flu vaccine this year is $20, or free for those with a medical card. In addition, the health department has a contract with the state of Illinois to provide free flu vaccine to state employees and retirees.

Flu vaccine is also available on the new H.O.P.E. Mobile, which saw its first day of service Monday. The public may obtain a flu shot on the H.O.P.E. Mobile at its regular scheduled stops. For more information on the H.O.P.E. Mobile's schedule, call 217-735-2317 or visit www.logancountyhealth.org.
