County passes new budget as fiscal year comes to a close          Send a link to a friend

[NOV. 25, 2006]  The Logan County Board made several amendments to the proposed 2006-2007 fiscal year budget. The budget begins on Dec. 1.

Animal control administrator's salary was increased to $13,560. Vote: 10 yes, 1 no (John Stewart), 1 abstained (Pat O'Neill)

Animal control warden, assistant warden and administrator receive 3.4 percent salary increases. Vote: 10-1-1 (same as above)

County courthouse security receives 3.4 percent salary increase, the same as other county employees. Vote: 11 yes, 1 no (Stewart)

The amended budget was accepted. Vote: 10 yes, 2 no (Stewart and O'Neill)

Finance chair recommended to accept the proposed levies with the following budget for the 2006-2007 fiscal year:

$866,702 -- General fund
$151,000 -- Ambulance fund
$310,000 -- Liability insurance
$40,672 -- TB sanitarium fund
$700,000 -- IMRF
$335,507 -- Health department
$349,000 -- County highway
$1,000 -- County bridge fund
$1,000 -- County bridge and highway matching tax fund
$99,000 -- Cooperative Extension
$80,000 -- Senior citizens tax fund
$2,933,881 total

Vote: 11-1 (Stewart)
