The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Oasis potluck
Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for the monthly potluck, featuring
pork loin, salads, special dishes and wonderful dessert. You can
bring a dish to pass or a donation of $3. Entertainment will be
provided. The monthly drawing for lunch will be for Capone's Tea
Room. Following the luncheon there will be bingo games sponsored by
the Christian Village. Come join the fun and win some prizes.
October birthdays
Birthday time! Come celebrate October birthdays at The Oasis. The
party begins at 1:30 p.m. Monday and is sponsored by State Farm,
Chris Coyne. There will be games, prizes, entertainment, and cake
and ice cream. Come join the fun and bring a friend.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Oct. 17 will feature pasta bake, salad,
garlic bread and a dessert for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and
play cards. Reservation deadline is Monday noon.
Winners for the week announced
Alice Petro was the weekday pinochle winner. The weekend pinochle
winners were Tom Garrison and Eileen Kohl. Winners for five-in-one
were Dorothy Oltmanns and Bernie DePuy. Rummy winners were Betty
Burger, Ruth Barry and Dorothy Oltmanns. Congratulations.
