Ruth Haak, membership chairman, reported that 25 are renewed for
2007, with only two more to go. She also reported on the wonderful
expression of dedication by the members with their generous
donations for future service by the auxiliary.
Louise Cobb, second vice president and child welfare chairman,
reported one project of used materials for school educational
equipment.
Doris Langenbahn, third vice president and service chairman,
reported on volunteering at the local food pantry, food donated to
three food pantries, blood given, food to the needy, plastic
containers and lids to kitchen at campground, and cards sent.
Evaluation of these projects was $7,128.
Dorothy Sanders, sergeant at arms, recruited volunteers for
Veterans Day ceremonies.
As public relations officer, Haak reported on the six news media
where she has been sending publicity and said that the auxiliary
owes them a big thanks for publishing the articles.
As hospital chairman, Sanders reported four volunteers and six
projects with a total evaluation of $616. Volunteers have served at
the hospital; visited veterans; and made donations: books and
clothing to nursing home, glasses and cases to VA Medical Center,
and playing cards to nursing home.

As scholarship chairman, Haak reported that memorial scholarships
have been sent in four names for a total of $83 for two volunteers.
As Americanism chairman, Sanders reported five volunteers and a
total evaluation of $776.
Certificates from John Tracy Clinic and for 100 percent 2006
membership were received from the national department.
A report was made on the 2,058 bricks for All Veterans Park and
the Congressional Medal of Honor tribute that will be laid as soon
as it is received. Members were urged to get the word out that this
possibly will be the last laying of bricks until spring. All order
forms and checks should be sent in immediately so that the bricks
can be included in the next laying. Forms can be picked up at All
Veterans Park or call 217-732-8829. Callers who get the answering
machine are asked to be very clear in stating their full name and
address so that as many forms as they request can be sent
immediately.
The next meeting of the post and auxiliary will be Nov. 20 at 4
p.m. at 1417 N. Logan St. All members are welcome and urged to
attend.
