Kenneth R. "Cotton" Robinson, born 2-23-41,
passed away at his home on 10-14-06. He is survived by his wife, Susan
D. Robinson; four sons, John and Dale Denny, Dallas and Cody Robinson;
three stepsons, Clint, Joe and Matt Plummer; 15 grandchildren; two
sisters, Joy Dillow and Betsy "Pete" Koonce; and several cousins, nieces
and nephews. A private family visitation will be at
Preston-Hanley in Pekin, Ill., on 10-19-06 at 11 a.m. and funeral immediately following at
noon. A celebration of his life will be held that evening at his home.

The Logan County Health Department is accepting
applications for an immediate opening in the financial division. The
duties may include R/AP/GL, payroll, budgets and spreadsheet
applications. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and accounting software is
essential. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in business
or accounting with two years' experience in accounting, or a bachelor's
degree in business or accounting with one year experience in accounting.
The candidate must also have supervisory experience and must be able to
communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Logan County Board
The Logan County Board is
selling the following described property legally described as: A part of
the North half of the Southeast quarter of Section 22, Township 20
North, Range 3 West of the Third Principal Meridian, commencing at a
steel pin found marking the East quarter corner of Section 22, thence
West (assuming bearing) along a North line of said North half 228.97
feet to a railroad spike set at the Point of Beginning; thence South 16
degrees 57 minutes 30 seconds west 30.50 feet to a steel pin set; thence
continuing on the last named bearing 568.06 feet to a steel pin set;
thence South 81 degrees 28 minutes 35 seconds West 248.04 feet to a
steel pin set; thence North 79 degrees 01 minutes 04 seconds West 236.11
feet to a steel pin set; thence North 50 degrees 10 minutes 22 seconds
West 246.81 feet to a steel pin set; thence North 1 degree 45 minutes 15
seconds West 370.18 feet to a steel pin set; thence continuing on the
last named bearing 36.25 feet to a railroad spike set on the north line
of said North half; thence East along said North line 853.65 feet to the
true Point of Beginning and containing 9.767 acres, more or less. The
property was formerly known as the picnic area of the Logan County Poor
Farm, vicinity 960-1750th Street.
Sealed bids will be
accepted and opened in Room 16 at the Courthouse at 9:00 A.M. on
November 16, 2006, at which time bidders will be allowed to raise their
bid till the property is sold. The minimum bid for the property is set
at $100,000. Ten percent (10%) deposit due day of sale with remainder
due within approximately 30 days after the sale.
The Logan County Board
reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive
irregularities therein. Bidders agree that such rejection shall be
without liability on the part of the county, nor shall bidders seek any
recourse of any kind against the county because of such rejection.
Filing of a bid in response to this invitation shall constitute
agreement to these conditions.
