The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Maple Ridge to sponsor bingo Maple Ridge Care Centre will
sponsor the bingo on Thursday at The Oasis. Games will begin at 1
p.m. Come join the fun and win a prize.
Book club
Come join the book club at the senior center. Rekindle the
rewards of reading a book and either sharing your thoughts with the
group or just sitting back and listening to others. The scheduled
time is Monday at 1 p.m. Coffee and tea will be provided. Bring a
friend and enjoy reading.
Meeters and Greeters
The Meeters and Greeters group will meet at noon Monday at the
senior center. The volunteers will be recognized for their fifth
year of service, bringing a bright spot in people's lives. If you
are interested in the Meeters and Greeters group, call the senior
center at 732-6132.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Sept. 12 will feature lasagna, salad,
garlic bread and a dessert for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and
play cards. Reservation deadline is Monday noon.
Winners for the week announced
Mina Bradburn and Betty Oltmanns were the weekday pinochle
winners. The weekend pinochle winners were Kathy Rose and Linda
Hughes. The five-in-one winners were Linda Hughes and Ella Lee
Graney. Congratulations.
