The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension to sponsor bingo
Logan County Extension will sponsor the bingo games at The Oasis
on Thursday, beginning at 1 p.m. Come join the fun and win food
prizes.
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the
senior center's library. No reservation is necessary. The group
provides support and information for caregivers and extended family.
Meetings are facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care
Centre.
Board meeting open to the public
The Oasis board's monthly meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Thursday and is open to the public. To schedule any agenda item, the
board must receive notification in writing on or before the fifth
day of the month prior to a meeting date.
Memories class
The monthly Memories class is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Friday in
the library at the senior center. No reservation is necessary.
Participants should bring their own pen and paper to learn skills
needed to preserve memories for families and friends.
SHARE food is coming
The Self Help and Resource Exchange food order may be picked up
between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Friday at the senior center, and October
orders may be placed then. The Catholic Diocese of Peoria sponsors
the program, which is open to everyone, regardless of faith, age or
income.

Bunco
The bunco games will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the senior center.
Bring a friend and come for an afternoon of fun. Refreshments will
be provided.
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch on Sept. 26 will feature a chicken salad
sandwich, California veggie salad, potato chips and a dessert for
only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Reservation
deadline is Monday noon.
Think tank
Bob Thomas, Logan County coroner, will be the guest speaker at
the senior center on Sept. 27 at 9:15 a.m.
Winners for the week announced
Mina Bradburn and Bernie Haley were weekday pinochle winners. The
weekend pinochle winners were Bernie Haley and Doris Steffens.
Winners for five-in-one were Linda Hughes and Betty Burger. Rummy
winners were Betty Burger, Dorothy Oltmanns and Ruth Barry.
