The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

St. Clara's Manor to sponsor bingo
St. Clara's Manor will sponsor an afternoon of bingo on Thursday,
beginning at 1 p.m. Come join the fun and win some prizes.
Red Hat group
The Red Hat group at The Oasis, the Belles, will meet Oct. 3 at
11 a.m. If you would like to stay for lunch, please call 732-6132 by
noon Monday to make a lunch reservation. Put your red hat on and
come join this lively bunch of ladies!
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Oct. 3 will feature chicken and mushroom
casserole, salad, garlic bread, and a dessert for only $3.75, or
$3.25 if you stay and play cards. Reservation deadline is noon
Monday.
Rules of the Road
The secretary of state's office continues to offer a Rules of the
Road course free of charge to all interested parties. The course is
scheduled at the senior center for Oct. 3, beginning at 1 p.m. The
course is designed to assist individuals who may have to take a
written exam or the behind-the-wheel test.

Hearing screening
The Oasis will have free hearing checks on Oct. 4 between 10 a.m.
and noon. To schedule an appointment, please call 732-6132.
Winners for the week announced
Mable Hoagland and Bernie Haley were weekday pinochle winners.
The weekend pinochle winners were Helen Opperman and Marjorie
Reiners. Winners for five-in-one were Bernie DePuy and Ella Lee
Graney. Rummy winner was Dorothy Oltmanns. Congratulations.
